There was a single gas station in cities across Oxford County selling premium gas at the price of $3.85 per gallon in the week ending Feb. 17, according to GasBuddy.com.

Of the 12 gas stations in cities within Oxford County, just one offers premium gas.

The $4 average price of premium gas in Maine was unchanged from the previous week.

Experts predict gasoline prices could drop below $3 this year before rebounding closer to $4 by year’s end. GasBuddy forecasted a national average of $3.38 per gallon, down from $3.51. An outlook published in late 2023 suggests that gas rates will continue to fall in 2024.

Gas data refers to the price of gas when paid for by cash, not credit. Gas stations can charge drivers more for using credit cards due to surcharge fees. This is prohibited in 10 U.S. states.
