I would be remiss to not acknowledge the backbone for all first responders in Franklin County, our dispatchers. They serve as a vital lifeline for citizens in need and connect them with EMS, Fire and Police Services. They sit at their stations taking phone calls 24/7, mostly dealing with 911 calls. When a citizen calls and is in distress, it is the calming reassurance of the dispatcher that helps that person through the crises until proper services arrive. It is not an easy job, it takes hundreds of hours of training and on the job experience to become an effective dispatcher.
Thank you all for all you do for the Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of Franklin County!
Sheriff Scott Nichols
