The UMaine-Farmington Beavers golf team placed fifth this afternoon at the Thomas College Invitational held at the Waterville Country Club. The Beavers shot a four-man score of 331.
The Invitational consisted of eight teams, UMF, Thomas, Husson, University of New England, Saint Joseph's College, Colby, Maine Maritime, UMaine-Presque Isle. Husson walked away with the victory on the day as they carded a four-man score of 295, a 16 stroke lead over second place Thomas and UNE. The Eagles were paced by Max Woodman (Lincoln, Maine) who shot a 71 and walked away with medalist honors.
The Beavers were led by junior Ryan Sargent (Windham, Maine) and sophomore Neil LaRochelle (Lisbon Falls, Maine) who carded a 77 and 80 respectively. Jack Burton (Dayton, Maine) and Chris Frey (Auburn, Maine) also scored for the Beavers as they shot an 86 and 88.
