On Thursday, 15 out of 16 of Maine’s Sheriff’s met with the County Commissioner’s Association at their monthly meeting at the Senator Inn in Augusta. During the meeting we had the opportunity to hear from both Gubernatorial Candidates, Governor Janet Mills and Former Governor Paul LePage. Both candidates spoke for an hour and took questions regarding the role of county government in Maine with an emphasis on the importance of Sheriff’s providing public safety utilizing jails and patrol.
