Today we recognized an old friend from the Sheriff’s Office. Detective Stephen Charles formally of the Sheriff’s Office is now serving the people of Wilton as a law enforcement officer, our loss is their gain. Stephen had an incredible 22-year career at the Sheriff’s office as a Deputy, Corporal (Patrol Supervisor) and Detective. He has been involved in several critical incidents, major crime investigations including homicide and death investigations. Over the years he worked closely with our Federal Partners in all manner of investigation and for the past several years has been involved in the Maine Information and Analysis Center (MIAC) with the State. He now transfers all this experience and training to his new position in Wilton and we at the Sheriff’s Office thank him for his years of service to the people of Franklin County.
