Oxford County Sheriff's Office Domestic Violence Action Month

Earlier this week, Sheriff Wainwright joined The Rumford Safe Voices Team, officers from Rumford PD, Rumford Police Chief Tony Milligan, and members from the community, to participate in the Safe Voices Vigil to honor those we have lost to domestic violence; to support those still impacted by domestic violence; and celebrate those who are free from it.

For the month of October, to bring awareness to Domestic Violence Action Month, Sheriff Wainwright unveiled the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office “Purple Plate”.

On October 26, at Hosmer Field in Rumford, Safe Voices is hosting the “Walk to End Domestic Violence.” The walk goes from Hosmer Field to the American Legion and back. The event starts at 5:00PM and open for anyone to join.

Domestic Violence is a crime. Report it.
