A fast paced NECC squad put the brakes on the Mustangs Saturday defeating the visitors 78-63 at the NHTI Paul Hogan Tip-off tournament in Concord.
The Mustangs started slow, turning the ball over and not connecting from the floor. Down 23-9, CM simply could not keep with the running Knights and lost in convincing fashion.
Coach Gonyea stated, "we are early in the season, young, and not where we want to be right now. Our guys are still trying to figure each other out, and still getting used to each other's playing styles, weaknesses and strengths. It is a long season; we will figure it out and get better."
Wyatt Hathaway led the Mustangs with 19 points followed up by Boston Caldwell with 12 points.
CM travels to Great Bay Monday for its first Yankee Conference game of the year.
