Franklin County Sheriff Office Firefighter Ellie Adams | Franklin County Sheriff Office
Whenever the members of the Franklin County Sheriff's Office witness an incident involving a citizen/first responder who has acted above and beyond the normal expectations of that individual. We want to ensure that the person is recognized for their efforts. Last night at the New Sharon Select board Meeting, Sheriff Nichols had the opportunity to do just that and recognized Firefighter Ellie Adams for a job well done and presenting her the Sheriff's Office Life Saving Certificate. Franklin County is fortunate to have the first responders we have!
On October 14, 2022, during a severe weather event, New Sharon Fire & Rescue responded to multiple reports of trees and power lines down throughout the town. At approximately 1430, while en-route back to the station, New Sharon Rescue arrived on the scene of a multi-vehicle accident that had just occurred. Firefighter/AEMT Ellie Adams, having only been on the Fire Department a few days, immediately jumped into action triaging and assisting multiple patients. Firefighter Adams assessed a patient who had experienced severe trauma to their upper left arm with uncontrolled bleeding. Firefighter Adams appropriately applied a tourniquet to stop the bleeding which ultimately led to saving this patient’s life, bringing great credit upon the Fire Department, the Town of New Sharon, and herself.
