Ayla Bodach-Turner/Women's Nordic Skiing | University of Maine at Farmington
The University of Maine at Farmington women's nordice team placed third in their first USCSA race of the season at the Castleton Invite at Paul Smith's VIC in New York, just 5 points behind Cornell. 6 USCSA teams competed in the event as well as guest members from UVM, Middlebury and two US Biathlon team members.
The team was led by first year skier Ayla Bodach-Turner (East Montpelier, Vermont) who finished in 4th place of all USCSA racers (6th place overall) in the 10.5km Freestyle race. Senior captain Mullein Francis (Hinesburg, Vermont) placed 10th in the USCSA division and first year skier Jenna Badeau (Fayette, Maine) was right on her heels to finish 11th in the USCSA division.
UP NEXT
The team is looking forward to their next event at Lake Placid this coming weekend, especially the Classic Team Relay where each member will ski 3 laps of a 1.1km course.
