University of Maine at Farmington Two Men's Basketball Players Earn College Sports Communicators All-District Honors

The 2023 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® men's basketball teams have been released and a pair of University of Maine at Farmington players have been selected.

Seniors Silas Mohlar (Readfield, Maine) and Nathan Poulin (Williamstown, Vermont) have been recognized for their academic excellence. To gain Academic All-District® distinction, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher, play in greater than 50% of their respective teams games, and have at least a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. 

Mohlar is a fifth-year student double majoring in Earth and Environmental Science as well as GIS. Mohlar also has a minor in Biology. This season for the Beavers, Mohlar has started all 26 games, averaging 23.5 minutes per contest, scoring 3.2 points per game.

Poulin is also a fifth year student, majoring in Community Health Education with a concentration in School Health Education. Poulin also will be graduating later this spring with a minor in coaching. This season for the Beavers, Poulin has appeared in all 26 games, making a pair of starts. Poulin is averaging 9.0 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.

"The 2022-23 Academic All-District® Men's Basketball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's basketball honorees in four divisions - NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA."

"Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First, second, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in Mid-March. The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes list in the link below."

"The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects of the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office."
