The Maine Men's Basketball Coaches & Writers Association (MMBCWA) released their post-season awards this afternoon and seniors Terion Moss (Portland, Maine) and Jack Kane (Cumberland, Maine) were named the Player of the Year and the Defensive Player of the Year for the 2022-23 season. 

Moss had a spectacular senior season for the Beavers, one of the best in program history as he finished the season averaging 24.0 points, 4.8 assists, 5.8 rebounds, 2.2 steals per game to help lead the Beavers to a 19-8 record on the season, a NAC regular season title and an appearance in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship game. Moss finished the season as the highest scorer in the state of Maine and 4th overall in Division III across the country. Moss also was an extremely efficient scorer, shooting 48.4% (229-473) from the field, 34.7% (52-150) from beyond the arc, and 74.8% (113-151) from the free throw line. 

This season, Moss scored a total of 623 points, the 2nd most ever in a single season in Beaver history. Moss finished his career at Farmington having scored 1655 points and 3rd overall in Farmington program history. Moss finished his collegiate career amassing 1,813 total points (played at Orono for one season).

The MMBCWA Player of the Year honor for Moss is the 2nd time in as many seasons he has won the award. Moss was also named to the All-State 1st team.

Kane was a defensive force all season long for the Beavers. Kane was a huge factor in the Beavers defense holding opponents to 41.6% field goal percentage for the season. Kane recorded 74 blocks this season to add to his program record total, finishing his career with 241 career blocks. Prior to this weekend, Kane ranked eighth in the country in total blocks and 12th overall in Division III in blocks per game at 2.8 blocks per game.

Kane was also a monster on the boards, averaging 8.4 rebounds per game, and totaled eight double-doubles on the season. Kane also averaged 14.5 points per game while shooting an efficient 54.2% (149-275) from the field on the season. He also became the 33rd member to join the 1,000 point scoring club earlier this season and finished his career with 1,170 total points. He also finished with 715 career rebounds. Kane was also named to the All-State 2nd team.

The awards for Kane and Moss come a week after each received the NAC's Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year honors.
