University of Maine at Farmington senior Riley Bartell and sophomore Ryan Sargent were both named to the North Atlantic Conference's All-Conference East Division team when the league's post-season honors for baseball were announced on Thursday.

Bartell charted a .340 batting average, second-highest on the team, with 33 hits in 97 at-bats including six doubles and three home runs. He finished the season second on the team in runs scored (19) and runs batted in (17), and drew 12 walks during the 2022 campaign. Bartell recorded four multiple-RBI games and seven multiple-hit contests and enjoyed a 16-game hitting streak that began during UMaine-Farmington's post-Florida doubleheader at Wentworth (March 26) and was snapped in the Beavers' win over Northern Vermont-Lyndon (April 18).

Over his three seasons in maroon and white, Bartell recorded a .341 batting average with 16 doubles, 10 home runs, and 47 RBI.

Sargent finished 2022 as the Beavers' team batting champion and ranked fourth in the NAC with a .387 average, recording 41 hits over 106 at-bats with 10 doubles and seven home runs. Among conference leaders, Sargent was third in the NAC in home runs, ninth in total hits, and tied for seventh in doubles. He crossed for 10 runs scored and had a team-leading 30 runs batted in which was good enough for ninth among NAC statistical leaders. In 32 games played for UMaine-Farmington in 2022, Sargent charted 10 games with multiple RBIs and 15 multiple-hit games.

"Ryan had one of the best offensive seasons in UMaine-Farmington history. His record-tying 10 doubles, adding seven home runs and 30 runs batted in, rank him among the top in all-time stats for a season. Sargent was also an outstanding defensive first baseman and became a leader in the dugout for our young team," said Chris Bessey, UMaine-Farmington's head baseball coach.

UMaine-Farmington finished the 2022 season with an 8-25 overall record, 6-10 in the NAC East Division, under Bessey, who completed his 12th season at the helm of UMF baseball.
