University of Maine at Farmington Beavers Claim 3rd Place at NAC Championship

On Saturday afternoon, the University of Maine at Farmington women's cross country team raced to a third place finish at the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship meet hosted by SUNY Canton.

The Beavers were led on the course by sophomore Anna MacDonald (Bangor, Maine) who finished in 7th place overall with a 6k time of 26:02.5. Right behind MacDonald (Bangor, Maine) finishing in 9th place was fellow classmate Charlotte Wentworth (Sidney, Maine) with a time of 26:05.5.

Kaylee-Mae Durgin (Dover-Foxcroft, Maine) was the third Beaver to cross the finish line as she did so in 28:41.3, good for 24th place. Angie Tehuitzil (Northglenn, Colo.) finished just two spots behind her in 26th place with a time of 29:09.9.

Emily Eaton (Hampton, N.H.) and Sarah Chapin (Readfield, Maine) also finished inside the top 35 for the Beavers as Eaton finished in 31st place at 30:09.8 and Chapin in 33rd place with a time of 30:20.0.

The third place finish for the Beavers marks the second consecutive year that they finished in third.

Husson University and SUNY Delhi battled for first place with Husson narrowly edging out the Broncos as they did so by a single point. Delhi had three finishers inside the top five, including the individual race winner, Alexa Wolcott. Wolcott finished the 6k in 23:51.3.

The Eagles would have four finishers inside the top ten en route to their Championship victory.
